Least Terns Nesting

We are having a tough time recruiting terns on our beaches thus far in 2015, and Least Tern numbers have been capped in the dozens at our most active sites, down from what can be hundreds in some seasons.

This is largely beyond our control and likely due to forage fish in Long Island Sound. We will see how it turns out, and hopefully those that do nest here can have a successful summer. We will be doing our best to help them, and thank you to all of our volunteer monitors assisting us in that effort each day.
